There are numerous places that notification settings can be adjusted for Pure Chat, so you'll want to check a few places to ensure you're being notified.
First, check the Notifications settings in your Pure Chat dashboard under the account Settings tab. If that has been enabled correctly, you'll want to make sure your web browser and phone notification settings are enabled correctly.
Chrome and Firefox now use power-saving browser features. If there isn't any activity on a tab for a certain amount of time, it will essentially turn off that tab, along with any sound that would auto-play on a tab, effectively suppressing Pure Chat notifications. Here are ways to get around this setting:
- Check back in with the dashboard about once an hour to re-activate the connection to the tab so it can't get turned off by the browser
- Turn on desktop notifications from your Notifications page in Pure Chat. These send no matter what and are a visual alert of chats that can help catch your attention if the sound alerts do not.
- Use the mobile app to get a backup alert so you know to check in on the dashboard when chats come in.
- In Chrome, head to chrome://settings/content/sound. Then add https://app.purechat.com to the Allow list to help ensure sound alerts are allowed to come in.
- In Firefox, be sure Pure Chat is allowed to autoplay sounds here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/block-autoplay
With the launch of iOS 15, Apple introduced the option to use a Notification Summary, which allows users to schedule a time to receive certain notifications all at once instead of on-demand. If the Pure Chat app is scheduled in this way, it will prevent time-sensitive notifications from being visible, which would result in missed chats.
To ensure that you are able to receive notice from Pure Chat as soon as chats come in, check you notification settings. If you do not wish to utilize the Notification Summary, you can simply opt to turn the whole function off by opening the Settings app and open the “Notifications” menu, and the summary option will be at the top of the page.
If you would like to continue using the Notification Summary, you still can! Simply click on the Scheduled Summary option, and you'll be presented with a list of all your apps. Each one is able to be toggled on and off at your discretion. When you make sure that Pure Chat is set to off, you are ensuring that it will be able to send all notifications as usual.
